I see it is raining….again!!!! No doubt there is a lot of snow in Newfoundland. I do hope it’s all melted by the time we get there. I am not fond of the cold. The rain I can deal with.
It is so fun to see the replies coming in. Thanks Ned for your advice. I like the way you think. I think training too much would just be crazy.

It is unbelievable. Here we are with our website up and running and already I have donations. I am supposed to set a goal so I am thinking of what is realistic and do I really need to be realistic?Should I just reach for the stars?
Although we have a wonderful mental picture of cycling everyday in glorious sunshine, the reality is that “sometimes” it may rain! So, I guess with only three months to go, we had soon better start some training – even if the weather is unkind!
I am so excited!!! I can’t believe we have our tickets already and soon we will be undertaking a dream for both of us by riding across Canada. I am overwhelmed and will think of it as one kilometre at a time. With only our bikes and panniers there won’t be a lot of room for extras. Don’t worry, I have sorted out that if I shop I can mail things home.
It is a cold, wet day in January (but at least the snow has all melted) and we have fixed our Trek start date at Sunday, May 8th. Complete with our bicycles and kit, we have to be at Victoria Airport for a 7am departure, and then via Toronto, arrive in St John’s just before midnight. It will be an interesting start to our journey trying to find a campsite in the dark, and near a major Airport!
We have already sent quite a few emails off to various corporate possible sponsors, but too early yet to expect responses. The next step is to start on the local prospects in Courtenay and Comox from whom we hope to raise most of our sponsorship money.
