Trekking 101 – Lesson 1. Be very careful of stone steps in foreign countries! Just got home from a 3 week trip that included an unplanned trip!
I went to UK and Hungary to visit family and friends – great to catch up with everyone and point them in the direction of this website. In Budapest I was hurrying across a road up near the Castle (hurrying because it was cold!) and went to go down a flight of old stone steps. The top of the first tread was raised above the sidewalk level and I didn’t notice! Yep – I took an unexpected trip head first down the stairs! Now I am nursing a couple of bruised knees and as soon as I get over the jet-lag, a training ride will hopefully not reveal any problems. Last thing we need now are injuries!!
